This book is a compilation of some academic works that used as scope the tamponing substances of proven action: beta-alanine and sodium bicarbonate. The mechanisms of action, dosage, side effects and for which activities these two substances are recommended were addressed, pointing out some findings in the scientific literature that corroborate with the statement that they are extremely effective products for improving the performance of athletes.
