Franco Montanari's scholarly career has been devoted both to the main genres of Ancient Greek and Latin literature and to ancient scholarship, which he decisively helped establishing as an extremely important field of study. The two volumes of his collected papers offer a wide-ranging selection of his life-long engagement with the ancient texts. Volume I comprises some 66 papers on ancient scholarship.
