'I have seen the enthusiastic response of district leaders to the Secondary Lenses on Learning program. Administrators and other school leaders are thirsty for help to think through the issues they face. In particular, they appreciate the help Secondary Lenses offers with collecting and analyzing data that will allow them to make informed decisions'-Deborah Shifter, Director, Mathematics Leadership Program, Education Development Center

'Mathematics-specific leadership materials for diverse leadership teams have not existed heretofore. These materials not only fill this important niche, but do so with a thoughtful, well-designed series of learning activities built on a foundation of important ideas essential to improving mathematics learning and teaching. The facilitator supports are extraordinary in their detail, allowing facilitators to shape activities to address the needs of their group'-Judy Mumme, Senior Project Director, WestEd

Create a successful mathematics leadership team to help all students realize their full potential!

The Secondary Lenses on Learning professional development programme helps leaders from a range of administrative and instructional roles provide strategic and coherent leadership for mathematics programmes. The authors provide a comprehensive package that contains everything needed to offer this seminar. Over the course of six nationally field-tested learning sessions, school and district leaders will:

- Explore concepts in middle and high school algebra as a window into content, instruction, and assessment

- Assess the strengths and needs of their mathematics programs, set goals, and generate plans for ongoing improvement

- Engage in extended explorations and conversations through readings, problem-based activities, cases, and videos

Participants in this innovative, new programme will deepen their understanding of research-based practices associated with improved student learning and achievement in secondary mathematics and position their leadership teams to address necessary changes at the classroom level and in schoolwide systems.
