Über den Autor DeRouen Jr., Karl

Karl DeRouen, Jr. is Professor of Political Science and Director of the International Studies B. A. Program at The University of Alabama. His previous appointment was at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. His main research interests are civil war dynamics, peace agreements, and mediation and he has authored or co-authored articles, books, and chapters on civil war, mediation, diversionary use of force, defense economics, peacekeeping, and international political economy.Edward Newman is Professor of International Security and Co-Director of the Centre for Global Security Challenges in the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds. Amongst his previous appointments, he was Director of Studies on Conflict and Security in the Peace and Governance Programme at the United Nations University, based in Tokyo.Paul Bellamy, a senior researcher in New Zealand, has published numerous reviewed papers. He is a former political science lecturer at the University of Canterbury, and has undertaken research for the international organisations such as Transparency International and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance. He has authored or co-authored and co-edited work on conflict and security.
